Community Events Message Center
A ‘Sign’ of the Times: A New Means of Promoting Your Events!

Over the past several months, you have heard of the decision to eliminate the street banners in downtown Zanesville. From advertising and promoting fund-raisers, benefits, festivals, and other special events, the banners attracted the attention of downtown travelers. While the banners may no longer be an option, there is an effective new alternative in place! The Muskingum County Convention Facilities Authority (MCCFA) at the Welcome Center has installed a Community Events Message Center at the corner of Fifth and Shinnick Streets.
“In our attempt to organize and attract more community events for Zanesville-Muskingum County, we realize the importance of cost-effective advertising and promotional tools,” stated Vicki LeVeck, Executive Director of the MCCFA. “We have installed the Community Events Message Center to be used for promoting functions that are being organized by non-profit organizations, charities, and government affiliates, as these events are instrumental to the growth and spirit of our community.”
Programmed by the MCCFA staff, the Community Events Message Center provides a high-profile, low-cost means of targeting a significant number of travelers. Visible from both east and west bound Shinnick Street, as well as Fifth Street, the message center is already attracting a lot of attention. >br>
“We have received several inquiries in the past couple of weeks, and we’re proud to offer clients up to four frames of text on the sign for just $50.00, which is a fraction of the cost of having banners designed, printed, and placed downtown,” explained LeVeck. “The message may be displayed for up to 30 days prior to the event, and will highlight the important details of the event.”
LeVeck emphasized that the message center is to be used exclusively for community events, and is not available for private advertising, political campaigns/statements, or personal greetings (i.e. Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary). A Community Events Message Center Usage Agreement and Application must be completed prior to the programming of new messages. A special incentive is also available for clients who lease the meeting rooms and exhibition halls at the Welcome Center, as they receive a complimentary mention on the message center.
